Art Therapy is a form of talking therapy which uses art materials within the space to explore complex emotions and gain understanding and insight. This method can also be useful to address somatic concerns which may not been resolved by other approaches. The relationship with your therapist and the art created within the sessions are the key focus, and no artistic experience is required. This method can be especially useful with things that can be difficult to verbalise or discuss openly. Our Therapists are all registered with the Health Care Professionals Council as well as British Association of Art Therapists and have their own specialist areas. An initial consultation meeting will be needed before committing to ongoing sessions. To make contact and talk about your options go here.
These spaces are designed to give you the space and support you need to continue with your own creative practice. Whether this is a commission piece, a hobby or just exploring materials and interests its up to you. Our sessions focus on the process, rather than the end result and we consider each piece to be an honest learning process. Studio sessions are also a great way to get out and meet like-minded people, doing something you love.
If you’re tired of working at home on your own with distractions all around, or maybe haven't done anything creative for a while, why not attend one of our workshops designed to teach you something new and inspire you to continue.
Some of our workshops include:
'Kick start your creativity' 'Intention Sticks' 'Mandala Making' and 'Pop Art - Soup Cans'
to name a few. Check out our public sessions page to see whats coming up.
