Creating Space runs regular creative sessions and social events to support trying something new and meeting new people. The sessions below are all very different so please have a read and see if there's anything you feel is right for you.
Please get in touch if you have any questions. We can't wait to meet you.
26/1/21 - 23/2/21 (6 weeks) Term One **closed**
These sessions are FREE of charge thanks to grant funding. Spaces are limited and there are only a set number of sessions/terms which will be delivered. This group is aimed at individuals who have a mental health diagnosis from the community, supported living environments or those who are marginalised and isolated or suffering from depression/anxiety.
This studio group will be a supported creative space to try out new materials, techniques and meet new people. Facilitated by a qualified Art Therapist, the group will all work independently on their own projects whilst being supported and inspired by each other. This could be your chance to start something new, complete something you’ve always wanted or just take some time to yourself to try out materials you never have before. Being creative is something that aids self expression, helps with problem solving and can aid in self reflection. This is an informal ‘no wrong approach’ group, where all you need it an open mind and the will to try. Get out of the house, meet new people and try something new!
Our next term starts on 16th March for 5 weeks. Forms to book a place on term two will be available on March 2nd.
The spaces are booked on a first come first served basis because there are limited spaces available. We will operate a waiting list for those who don't get on this time. You can find the terms and condition at the link below.
Art Therapy Group
Each Tuesday from 11:30-1pm Creating Space runs a creative session as part of Survivors mental health drop in at St Swithens building in Worcester city centre. This is open to Survivors members only. But don't worry you can join very easily and there is no cost to being a member.
Survivors is a community mental health organisation who meet every Tuesday and Thursday run by Kerry Aingel. The sessions are open to any adult who has experienced any kind of mental ill health and would like some community support. Within the session there is a pool table and domino's as well as reasonably priced cooked food available and tea, coffee and biscuits. These sessions act as peer support for those who feel isolated. If this session is something you think you would like to attend then please contact Kerry via e-mail email@example.com to arrange a visit.
