Some of our regular sessions that you could join in with!
Creating Space runs regular creative sessions and social events to support trying something new and meeting new people. The sessions below are all very different so please have a read and see if there's anything you feel is right for you.
Please get in touch if you have any questions. We can't wait to meet you.
Art Therapy Group
Each Tuesday from 11:30-1pm Creating Space runs a creative session as part of Survivors mental health drop in at St Swithens building in Worcester city centre. This is open to Survivors members only. But don't worry you can join very easily and there is no cost to being a member.
Survivors is a community mental health organisation who meet every Tuesday and Thursday run by Kerry Aingel. The sessions are open to any adult who has experienced any kind of mental ill health and would like some community support. Within the session there is a pool table and domino's as well as reasonably priced cooked food available and tea, coffee and biscuits. These sessions act as peer support for those who feel isolated. If this session is something you think you would like to attend then please contact Kerry via e-mail to arrange a visit.
Drink and DOODLE
Tuesday 10th December
Second Tuesday of each month we meet to Drink and DOODLE in The Paul Pry pub in Worcester. A 'Drink and Doodle' presents to you the opportunity to come together for some lighthearted fun and creativity. In groups or on your own, why not grab some art materials and draw a pretty picture, a caricature or nothing in particular. Let your mind wander and relax after a stressful day. No pressure no judgement. Just for fun. Share it with others, or keep it to yourself. The choice is yours. Materials are provided. See you there. Come and find us in the back room from 7pm.
Open Space Wellbeing Studio
Worcester Arts Workshop
5th November - 17th December 2019 (7 weeks)
Open Space, Open Mind Well-being Studio with Claire Hilton.
These sessions are free of charge thanks to funding from The National Lottery and Awards for All.
This group is aimed at individuals who have a mental health diagnosis from the community, supported living environments or those who are marginalised and isolated or suffering from depression/anxiety.
This studio group will be a supported creative space to try out new materials, techniques and meet new people. Facilitated by a qualified Art Therapist, the group will all work independently on their own projects whilst being supported and inspired by each other. This could be your chance to start something new, complete something you’ve always wanted or just take some time to yourself to try out materials you never have before. Being creative is something that aids self expression, helps with problem solving and can aid in self reflection. This is an informal ‘no wrong approach’ group, where all you need it an open mind and the will to try. Get out of the house, meet new people and try something new! Materials provided but you are also welcome to bring your own.
NOW FULL but don't worry. Please get in touch with Worcester Arts Workshop and join their waiting list to be notified of future dates and if spaces become available. These sessions are re booked every term so keep an eye on Worcester Arts Workshops website for new dates.
